DIN A6 postcard with my watercolour and gouache painting ‘Shinto Torii - Path of the Gods’. The forest god in the shape of a shining deer invites the little girl to go up the stairs to the path of the gods.
The Kamishikimi-Kumanoimasu shrine in Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan, inspired me to create this picture in Japanese anime style. You have to climb 260 steps on the path to the shrine. This temple was also the inspiration for the anime ‘Hotarubi No Mori e’ - ‘Into the forest of fireflies’.

Printed on 300g FSC-certified cardboard, reverse with pre-printed address and stamp, can of course be written on.
